Installing Hardware Files

Step 1

Preferences

Open Arduino. If you’re using Windows, go to File > Preferences. If you’re using a Mac, go to Arduino > Preferences.

Adding link

A Preferences window should appear. Find the Additional Boards Manager URLs and paste in the URL that’s below:

Step 3

Filter search

Hit OK to close the Preferences window and go to Tools > Boards > Boards Manager. Find the Type box in the upper lefthand corner, and change the type from All to Contributed.

Step 4

Installing

Find the package “rokit by ROBOLINK.” If it says it’s installed, you’re finshed! Skip this step! Otherwise, click the package and then click Install.

Step 5

Selecting the correct USB driver

The last thing you need to install is your USB driver for your Smart Inventor Board, which you can get from the Silicon Labs download page. Select your operating system from this page and click “Download” under the “Software” column. If you are using Mac, skip ahead to step 8.

Step 6

Extracting package

Save the file to your desktop. When the file is finished downloading, extract/unzip/uncompress the file to a new folder, and then run the appropriate ‘CP210xVCPInstaller_x…exe’ for your operating system.

If you’re on Windows, you can figure out if you’re using a x64 or x86 bit operating system by going to the start menu, right clicking This PC (or My Computer), and selecting Properties.
